ImportantModule 3 is required
Module 3 is a prerequisite. This session is hands-on project work, not instruction, and it assumes you can already choose and run an appropriate statistical test.
A session for the intermediate R user to practise end-to-end data analysis.
We use data/data.RDS — a synthetic dataset organised the same way as the main ABCD dataset, described in full on the dataset reference page — to ask basic scientific questions. You will:
- build a hypothesis
- decide on the appropriate statistical test
- use R to run the analysis and produce the visualisations
The goal is to leave with results of the kind you would put on a scientific poster at a conference.
Preparation
- Module 3 — required
- Download the dataset and its dictionaries into your project’s
data/folder - Have a browse of the variable list — the question you bring has to be answerable from these 53 columns
- Bring a question you are curious about, if you have one. Otherwise we supply them.
