Have you met Duane M. Jackson?
Dr. Jackson was a long-term IUSSI-NAS member and professor and chair of the Psychology Department at Morehouse College, named posthumously as an inaugural 2025 Turner-Collins Awardee. He built a research program focused on termite biology and improving equity in public exhibit design and college curricula. Dr. Jackson dedicated his lifetime to dismantling barriers to science careers through outreach in underserved communities of Atlanta — speaking at local public schools, boy scout meetings, and church groups. Through curatorial roles at the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance Center and Zoo Atlanta, he inspired multiple generations of children and college students to pursue careers in science.
Accepting on behalf of Dr Duane Jackson is his son Kari Jackson, MSc. in Entomology
